Gamer’s University – Updated Mondays (at least)

Changes…

Things are getting a little crazy lately. Got some major transitions happening in my day job so I’m a little behind. I did manage to play and review another game from the awesome folks at The Game Crafter but I am still polishing that up.

I WAS going to write today about my first impressions of the highly anticipated New Super Mario Bros. Wii. So here it is: The first two levels are AMAZING especially if you’re playing with four people. The game is sexy smooth in all the right places and is built perfectly for simultaneous multiplayer. Right as I was about to start the third level though, something happened to my Wii and the thing shorted out. I have no idea what the hell happened but suffice it to say my Wii is now a $300 brick. (at least the price has come down since I got mine) but I’m broke so no Wii reviews are coming anytime soon unfortunately.

Yeah, I’m pretty pissed. More sad than angry though, all my saves and Miis for myself and my entire family were on that. That is a special kind of loss. Like the loss of a pet, but not really one you loved, a kind of annoying pet, but it was still your pet, and having it die is still a pain in the ass and made your kids cry.

Oh well. Maybe there will be a good deal near/after Christmas and I’ll replace it. But seriously, NSMBWii is rad. Get it.

I’ll check back in with everyone later this week when things settle the hell down. In the meantime, why not follow me on Twitter?

Have a good week!
