This weekend, I decided to take a trip over to Kongregate to see what’s new, and I found something quite alluring.
There is a new game called Hero’s Arms. Labelled as a Zelda-like adventure game, this game delivers and far exceeded my expectations.
The game is a top-down RPG like the original Legend of Zelda, but with an Experience progression like Zelda II: Adventure of Link(which may or may not secretly be my favorite game of all time). I played through the entire first quest on Sunday, and loved every minute of it.
The story is lighthearted, but it doesn’t really matter just because of how fun it is. The graphics are fun, the sound is good, the music is probably the weakest point but only because it isn’t memorable–it’s quite far from ‘bad’.
They even give you a neat little snippet to post wherever you like about your character’s progression, I used mine for this post in lieu of a screenshot.
This is an awesome game, and they should feel really proud of it. I hope more games like this turn up over time. It’s loads of fun, and like everything on Kongregate, it is free to play!
Go try it here!
